International Youth Innovation Training Program

GIIP is initiated, supported and endorsed by HSK. The program aims to enable international students to acquire certain Chinese language skills in a short period of time through language learning, cultural experience and practical business training; to learn more about international business operations in the context of China's economy and business culture; and to experience China's market environment and enhance their practical business skills in a Chinese-speaking work environment. At the same time, it will also help domestic enterprises to reserve a team of talents who can effectively perceive and serve the international market, enhance the mutual understanding of multiculturalism between the two sides, and broaden the international vision.

 HSK Chinese Learning Test (Shanghai) Center has set up several HSK test centers in the core business district of Shanghai, around colleges and universities, and in international communities. At present, the services include five major sections: examination services, job creation services, local life services and digital learning services. In the field of entrepreneurial services, Shanghai Learning and Testing Center runs the "Global Youth Innovation Internship Program (GIIP)" project, which cultivates the practical skills of various types of foreign students in China's economic and business background culture as well as the Chinese work environment.

Customized HSK Chinese learning experience courses for foreign students of all levels of Chinese proficiency:

1. Teaching objectives To teach according to the requirements of the HSK exam, to learn the words covered by the syllabus and some superlatives, and to develop the students' ability of listening, speaking, reading, writing and synthesizing.

2. Teaching content The teaching resources in the specialized elements category aim at improving one or two of the language elements such as phonetics, Chinese characters, vocabulary and grammar. Comprehensive skills teaching resources are based on Chinese language and culture, such as Chinese listening materials, Chinese listening and speaking materials, Chinese audio-visual speaking materials, etc.

3. Teaching methods Closely following the International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Level Standards, the teaching methodology is based on the three dimensions of verbal communicative competence, topic task content, and quantitative linguistic indicators. We emphasize the cultivation of learners' communicative competence and cross-cultural communication skills, and the arrangement of knowledge and skills is progressive and reasonably difficult.

4. Teaching Arrangement Half-day classes are held every morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each class lasts 45 minutes, with a 10-minute break between classes. The average number of vocabulary words per lesson is 30 to 35, and there are 5 notes on language points.

5. Course Content Basic training course: covers the explanation and practice of vocabulary, language points and texts at all levels of HSK. Specialized Training Course: Specialized training for each part of Chinese language learning (listening, reading, writing, etc.).

The Bund

The Bund, located on the banks of the Huangpu River in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, is a historic and cultural district of China, which was designated as a British Concession in 1844 and is the starting point of the modern city of Shanghai.

Yuyuan Garden

With its unique historical connotation and cultural charm, the City God Temple has become a carrier of the collision and fusion of Chinese and Western cultures. In a sense, Shanghai City God Temple and its culture are remembered by every Shanghai people and the soul of Chinese culture accumulated in the city of Shanghai.

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

Zhujiajiao is located in the transportation hub of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other provinces and cities, with a very superior geographical position, the town has a long river and harbor, nine long streets stretching along the river, a thousand Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings standing by the water, 36 stone bridges with their ancient style still existing, and attractions and monuments abound. Some people compare her to the Venice of Shanghai, others compare her to a pearl on the shore of Dianshan Lake. The thousand-year-old town of Zhujiajiao is looking forward to your visit and exploration.

Alipay, founded in 2004 and developed for 19 years, is a third-party payment open platform in China that helps merchants digitize their business. More than 3 million small programs of merchants are stationed in the Alipay app, which provides more than 1,000 life services such as government services, code ordering, and daily payment for consumers. Alipay has served 80 million merchants and 1 billion consumers.

Cultural Experience

Explore the mysteries of Chinese culture and take students on a deep dive into the essence of traditional Chinese culture, including the unique art forms of Calligraphy, Kung Fu and Dragon and Lion Dance.

  • Calligraphy: As a treasure of traditional Chinese culture, students will be guided through the flow and rhythm of ink and brushwork.
  • Kung Fu: The program will demonstrate the philosophy and techniques of traditional Chinese martial arts, strengthening the body while realizing the wisdom between movement and static.
  • Dragon Dance: This cultural and sporting activity combines recreation, competition and fitness in a single program to experience the power of unity and collaboration and the importance of this activity in Chinese culture.


Through these colorful programs, we hope that every student will experience the charm of Chinese culture, enhance their cross-cultural communication skills, and learn and grow in a fun way.

Program Fee Information

Team cost: RMB 1100 / day / person (Minimum number of participants required to form a group is 15)

Fee Description:

1. The program fee includes: course fee, accommodation fee, activity fee, meal fee and other expenses mentioned in the itinerary.

2. The program fee does not include: visa fee, round-trip international air ticket, personal expenses and other expenses not mentioned in the itinerary.

Accommodation: Dormitory in a well-known university or international high school in Shanghai.
